Just ask a lot of questions. I just started on Monday, and I’ve retained a lot more information than I thought I could. Your boss will probably have you read some booklets to help you. Your speed isn’t that important at first (because your new). Just try your best and you’ll get through it!! Good luck!!

I worked at Starbucks not to long ago so I think I could help. Take notes! Bring a little note pad if you have one with you. You will receive a lot of info on your first day so be prepared for that. You will be sampling coffees and teas so I hope you like them, if you don’t try to be a good sport about it. You will be slow but your speed will improve over time so don’t try to force it. Buy black sharpie markers and lots of them. If you have any info on the beverages with you, you can start learning the abbreviations now. Such as Carmel Macchiato is CM, Iced White Mocha is IWM, Carmel Frappacino is CF, Strawberries and cream Frappacino is SCF and so on. You’ll learn the different bases for the fraps and they should show you how to make them. You’ll also learn how to make whipcream if your store does this. Cleaning of the bathrooms, where things are stored, how to sample out food to guests, how to become a coffee master( not a big deal but it looks good and they get a black apron), you should learn about getting free drinks( also free coffee and teas), closing and opening. So you will learn alot of stuff, just take it all in slowly so that you can remember. I hope this helped! I loved my Starbucks job and so will you! GOOD LUCK!
