My little stovetop espresso maker falls through the grate of the new stove?

I just moved to a new place, and my stovetop espresso maker doesn’t fit the new gas stove — the grate is too large for the espresso maker to balance over the flame.

I’ve seen a solution in Germany, a metal insert or adapter that fits over center of the existing grate to make it smaller.

Has anyone seen anything like that for sale, or is there some other clever solution?

I have a set from J.C. Penney. They’re on sale now on their internet site if you’re in the U.S. They’re called Even-Heat burner plates and are currently $14.95 for a set of two. If you’re not in the U.S., maybe Penney’s can put you in touch with a company in your area…I’ve found their customer service to be very good.

P.S. They have lots of other uses, too, due to their ability to spread the heat…I use them all the time. As a bonus, food no longer falls between the coils!
